Luxury Travel

JIWe have not experienced fancy travel before. A multiple course meal, with many yummy options, people waiting on us hand and foot, fluffy comforter, full size pillow, oh my.

In between the fits of food, we listened to parts of our audiobook. It's one of those extremely lengthy Tom Clancy thrillers.

The menu in first/business class was lovely. We tried everything. Favorites include the carrot soup and the laugen bread. Mmmmm. The beef bourguignon was nice as was the low country potage of shrimp. Andy ate everything plus half of Amelia's.

Second course:

Main course:

So we sat here feeling rather full, and then the desert cart came... So many choices!

We both had the ice cream sundae with varying toppings.

That was followed immediately by our attempts to sleep with varying but limited success. Andy, of course, was fascinated by watching the flight map an announced each new state or province or country or body of water over which we passed: Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Quebec, Newfoundland, etc. Amelia tried to sleep mostly.

Of course the seats do make into a narrow bed that is completely flat, which was sort of weird in the way it functions but so much nicer than the usual way Amelia has traveled overseas in the past.

Personal entertainment systems were nice although we did not use them except to track flight progress. Not being smashed up against strangers was the best bonus, though. Or second best after the fantastic food and service.

Of course morning brought another full meal. Andy ate his and most of Amekia's. He is not going to starve on this trip!

And team bald has landed.
